LOVE IN TEN LINES

Love's hard to express
but everybody feels love

Love is secret unexplained
but everybody knows love

Love is like air
feel love inside you

Love is pure perfection
Love is morning dew

Love wins over everything
Love will find you

NOTE: This poem is with regards to a poetry challenge - Love in Ten Lines. If you choose to join this challenge write ten lines, four words to each line, each containing the word love and nominate ten others to join the challenge. Cheryl, you already nominated the blogging group, so I am nominating no one here.

YOU'RE ALIVE IN ME

Is there a word that can
describe what I feel?
Is there a word that can
describe your endless zeal?

You took care of me,
Like no one did.
Its amazing how you knew,
about everything I need.

Your arms cuddled me,
whenever I fall.
Your heart heard my voice,
from a distance whenever I call.

Every morning hand in hand,
You walked me to the school.
With you, I shared my secrets,
You are my mother, so cool.

Made me food, so delicious.
Helped me with my homework.
Protected me in every way,
whenever dangers lurked.

Sometimes you were my best friend,
Sometimes my sworn enemy.
How stupid I was to fight with you
on situations, I couldn't see.

My life came crashing down,
When you passed away.
Couldn't understand how you could,
Like that, just walk away

For me, life was different then,
Dark and full of struggle.
I longed for your warm hug
in which, I could once again snuggle.

But in many strange ways,
You made me feel.
that you were not gone,
Still there with me, in real.

In good and bad times,
In every decision I make,
In loneliness and celebrations,
And in every step that I take.

Like a guiding force,
from the sky above, so blue.
You're alive in me, in every heartbeat
Because I'm a part of you.

NOTE: This poem is dedicated to my mother Tehmi Bamboat (1944 - 1995).

THE EARTH DAY POEM

In the lap of luxury
In your comfort, you sit
Watching this world burn
Watching it split

You have your own troubles
You have your own life
Balancing everyday's
Endless strife

You celebrate Earth Day
Participate in the cause
But you're too busy
to ponder and pause

That its your world too
the place you call home
where your ancestors walked
Where your kids will roam

But in your pursuit
for future progress
You've exploited me enough
Creating a mess

Your war, your battles
Is making me sick
Your quest for oil
Selfish motives that reek

Oh! human
you dominant race
Look what you've done
Ruined my grace

But its never too late
To end these wars
To restore peace &
this planet of yours

Its time to undo
What we've done
To embrace nature
To do away with guns

We're a big family
Earth is our Mother
Respect her gifts
Don't treat her like just another

LET GO

I want it, I want it.
Its a human thing.
To hold it tight,
This unlimited yearning

Never want to let it go
We hold it tight
Our fear to lose it,
makes us fight

But time moves on,
as clock ticks by.
Nothing is permanent,
Its natural to born and die

Everything has a beginning,
and so has its end.
There is nothing we can do.
Nothing in our hand.

The only way out,
is to let go.
The people we love,
the things we know.

Have you ever seen a tree
crying in grief?
When autumn steals away
Its precious leaf.

Can we be like the rose plant?
That smiles back and let go.
it's precious flower, so dear
Without a hint of woe

Even the river that flows,
is never the same.
Mixing with different tributaries,
Leaving behind what it once claimed.

To let go,
is the way of life.
Its hard and challenging.
It cuts like a knife.

Every moment of it,
Excruciating pain.
Every thought of it,
makes you go insane.

Probably because ,
We don't want to change.
To start over afresh.
A fear unknown and strange.

But there is no other way,
You got to understand.
We are just a part of this.
A design, so grand.

So, let go that moment,
that's stuck in your mind.
Of hatred and negativity,
and of feelings unkind.

Don't hold it back, let go,
Feel the pleasure when you give.
Abundance is a process of letting go,
Only that which is empty can receive.

A RAINY THOUGHT

Its dark and gloomy
Outside my window
Dark clouds hovering
Like an alien UFO

A loud thundering
Fills the dark sky
Like hundred drums
At once playing by

And in all that darkness
Lightning appears
Displaying its tremendous power
Gripping my heart with fears

Its all chaos and mess
In the city
This power of nature
Shows no pity

But we need this rain
Like air to breathe
A sign of prosperity
Of good luck and deed

I see these school kids
Splashing water everywhere
Not a drop of concern
Mind free from care

People heading for work
Worried about delayed trains
Burdened with responsibilities
Hurrying through the lanes

A respite to the farmers
After a long dry spell
Its not just a drop of water
Its happiness as well

I smell that earthy fragrance
I feel this breeze, so cold
Its wild untamed nature
Ready to unfold

AN IMPOSSIBLE DREAM

There's a world inside our mind
That awakes when we sleep
A world of impossibilities
And of secrets that we keep

We own it completely
But we can't control
Cant predict it
On what next will be unfold

Its a weird thing
All these dreams that we keep
Some relaxes our minds
Some never let us sleep

But its good to have
An impossible dream
One that tests our true character
In conditions grim

Pleasant dreams are good
Impossible ones are better
Its our perception and mindset
That really matter

Great visionaries were great dreamers
They just believed in what they envision
Hold on to it in the darkest hour
Fueled it by determination

And that's the challenge
Life throws at us
Living our dream
Among all that worldly fuss

Probably that is what separates
Between us and the great
To cling on to our dreams
When we begin to lose faith

Its ain't that easy
Its an uphill climb
Patience running out
Thoughts running wild

But whats life without it
Without nothing to achieve
What does a man know of celebration
When he has never grieved

So if you have a dream
Don't throw it away
Believe in it, till the end
Come what may

Someday down the line
Things will turn your way
Strengthening your belief
On an unexpected day

And when your dream turns into reality
Every moment of it feels great
You wonder how things began to fall in place
The moment you took that leap of faith.

QUEST FOR HAPPINESS

I wake up every morning.
Tired and Negative.
Thinking about what life has to offer.
Thinking about reasons to live.

Its the same old urban life.
Fast and Merciless.
Got no time to plan ahead.
Life here is a pile of mess.

Sometimes I just want to end this,
with a single blow of death.
Happiness is just a stranger,
whom I've never met.

But happiness ain't a product,
that I can find in the store.
It lies somewhere inside me,
waiting for me to explore.

I guess I am not the only.
Challenge lies in the nature all around.
Birds, animals and every living creature,
in the sky and on the ground.

So I wake up once again.
Positively from my bed.
Ready to rise to the challenge,
and earn my daily bread.

I am not the same anymore.
Grumbling about my sorrow.
I am learning from my mistakes.
Ready to shape my tomorrow.

Prepared to take on new challenges.
Walking paths where I've never been.
My quest for happiness has finally ended,
with the peace I've found within.

Dedicated to my friend Cheryl KP. :)
