LOVE IN TEN LINES

Love's hard to express
but everybody feels love

Love is secret unexplained
but everybody knows love

Love is like air
feel love inside you

Love is pure perfection
Love is morning dew

Love wins over everything
Love will find you

NOTE: This poem is with regards to a poetry challenge - Love in Ten Lines. If you choose to join this challenge write ten lines, four words to each line, each containing the word love and nominate ten others to join the challenge. Cheryl, you already nominated the blogging group, so I am nominating no one here.

YOU'RE ALIVE IN ME

Is there a word that can
describe what I feel?
Is there a word that can
describe your endless zeal?

You took care of me,
Like no one did.
Its amazing how you knew,
about everything I need.

Your arms cuddled me,
whenever I fall.
Your heart heard my voice,
from a distance whenever I call.

Every morning hand in hand,
You walked me to the school.
With you, I shared my secrets,
You are my mother, so cool.

Made me food, so delicious.
Helped me with my homework.
Protected me in every way,
whenever dangers lurked.

Sometimes you were my best friend,
Sometimes my sworn enemy.
How stupid I was to fight with you
on situations, I couldn't see.

My life came crashing down,
When you passed away.
Couldn't understand how you could,
Like that, just walk away

For me, life was different then,
Dark and full of struggle.
I longed for your warm hug
in which, I could once again snuggle.

But in many strange ways,
You made me feel.
that you were not gone,
Still there with me, in real.

In good and bad times,
In every decision I make,
In loneliness and celebrations,
And in every step that I take.

Like a guiding force,
from the sky above, so blue.
You're alive in me, in every heartbeat
Because I'm a part of you.

NOTE: This poem is dedicated to my mother Tehmi Bamboat (1944 - 1995).

THE EARTH DAY POEM

In the lap of luxury
In your comfort, you sit
Watching this world burn
Watching it split

You have your own troubles
You have your own life
Balancing everyday's
Endless strife

You celebrate Earth Day
Participate in the cause
But you're too busy
to ponder and pause

That its your world too
the place you call home
where your ancestors walked
Where your kids will roam

But in your pursuit
for future progress
You've exploited me enough
Creating a mess

Your war, your battles
Is making me sick
Your quest for oil
Selfish motives that reek

Oh! human
you dominant race
Look what you've done
Ruined my grace

But its never too late
To end these wars
To restore peace &
this planet of yours

Its time to undo
What we've done
To embrace nature
To do away with guns

We're a big family
Earth is our Mother
Respect her gifts
Don't treat her like just another
